Logo's
We see them every day. Some of them we remember. But why do we remember some and not others? An effective logo is easy to read, visually stimulating, and has meaning. Most logo's fail in this important aspect of being easy to read. We would bet that the logo's you do remember include Nike and FedEx. We didn't design those, but both of these illustrate how an effective logo does not need to be visually complicated - it only needs to be have meaning and be memorable. Have you noticed the arrow created by the space between the "e" and the "x" in the FedEx logo? This is an example of the Multistability principle from Gestalt Psychology, where two or more alternate visual interpretations pop back and forth. Now of course you don't need to know this to enjoy the logo, but once you notice the arrow, the logo becomes even more memorable. Click on the icons to the right to see examples of our logo designs.
